                                                                Theory test info

Are you prepared for the new theory test that is coming in the new year?
The major change occurs in January 2012 when a new theory test will be introduced in the UK, this will still be computer based, but none of the questions and the presented answers would have been available to the public, so candidates would need to have thoroughly studied the highway code and used the new study materials that were first published in September 2011 to prepare if they want to have a good chance of passing. use theory test pro (follow the link on my home page)The hazard perception part of the test is staying the same as it is now.
The theory is a multiple choice test of 50 highway code questions carried out on computer, a pass mark of 43 is required which is 85%, and you have 57 minuets to complete it.

The hazard perception test is a video containing 14 clips and you must spot the moving or developing hazards which arise during each clip; there is one clip in which there are two hazards. Before you start you will be shown a tutorial video giving examples on how they want you to complete the test.

The Hazard Perception Test will begin and will last 15 minutes.

A pass mark of 44 out of 75 is required at present which is 60% (however this pass mark is subject to change).
Important: Both sections must be passed in order for you to receive your certificate.

Driving lessons can commence before the test is attempted but the theory test must be passed before you are allowed to book a Practical Test. The theory test certificate is valid for 2 years during which you must pass the practical test or you will have to re-sit and pass the theory and hazard perception test again.

You can book your theory test over the telephone by contacting the DSA on   0870 0101 372    or using the internet at www.direct.gov.uk/motoring or Abbey School of Motoring will be more than happy to book this on your behalf.

Abbey School of Motoring will ensure you are fully aware of all possible subjects and areas you will be required to answer questions on.
